Winter Grille Cover

My 1952 MM came with a winter grille cover made of leather. It has been in the boot since the car was new and has NEVER been used. The reason: the car has never had a heater! I live in Northeast USA and the MM has never been out-of-doors in very cold weather so I have no need for it. It is very well made and I wonder what I should do with it? It seems a shame to let it sit unused.
Was this cover an option sold for Morris Minors? Was it "OEM"?

It was an "optional extra" which was available for owners to buy for the Winter months here called a Radiator Muffler, to aid the engine warming up faster. It is now being reproduced by the Birmingham Morris Minor Centre at a cost of £75. Originals do appear on Ebay occasionally. It is classed as a period accessory, I would keep it and use it for shows.

Thank you for the information.
