trmp gauge sensor

baught a temp gauge off ebay and tryed to fit into the side of the cylinder head today but the sensor is to big is there anything i can do

Kits usually come with adaptors to accomodate different sizes of threads. Alternative is to drill and tap the hole to the correct size for your sender.

the bit i have a prob with is the sensor it is bigger then the bit that came out and wornt fit in will it be alright to cut it down

Do you mean it is longer? If so, adaptors are still available. I wouldn't be cutting down the sensor to be honest with you....

Midget engines have a spacer that solves the problem of the capillary hitting the cylinder bore.

That photo looks like the standard Smiths unit which fits straight into the side of the cylinder head, at least it does on my car.
Don't damage the cappilary tube or the sensor or this topic will be wasted.
Photos tomorrow if you need them.
