Steering Wheel Nut

Post by David53 »

Hello. I have an early Series II, everything same as MM except motor and box. I was ondering if anyone could tell me the nut size of the steering wheel nut, as I want to obtain a box spanner to tighten it. The nut is obviously different from later models as I have ordered a later one and the thread is different.

I have a box spanner which is 1 and 5/16 as well as 1 and 3/8 AF but this is ever so slightly too small. So I am guessing maybe 1 1/2" AF? What does everyone else use?

Hi David

The box spanner you need is 7/8 Whitworth.

I've measured mine & its approx 1 and 9/16 AF but 7/8 Whitworth is the correct size.
