Any advice on how best to plumb in a water heated inlet manifold please?
I had considered the neatest solution feeding the return pipe from the heater into the manifold then thro the manifold to the bottom hose take off. But this obviously means that the manifold will be heated only when the heater is on (bear in mind I live in the Scottish tundra) but maybe that wont be a problem for 9 months of the year.

But, leave heater tap open all year round anyway to get flow to the back of the engine and just turn off inside the car....

Best result with NO heating to the manifold. ie Don't connect the water! Twin carbs don't have daft 'water heated' manifolds - why should the single have it! ?

I've got mine in the heater return. I had to use adapters as the MG Metro manifold has 5/8" pipes.

As Roy has intimated, you don't need to connect it but you should get better fuel economy with the heating vs. slightly more power without. Hence twin carb Midgets etc. didn't have a heated manifold as they weren't bought for their fuel economy!
