Hi all,
the Mog has failed it's MOT tin rot in the floors and the front/rear spring hanger mounts. I would like to get it all replaced including the sills. Can anyone recommend a restorer in Central Scotland who I could trust to do the work?
Thanks
Mike.

Oh dear, sorry to hear that - well - there is the MG garage in Orbiston Street in Motherwell - but varying reports I'm afraid.........and likely to be v expensive. There is of course Chick Doig in Cardenden - but again 'mixed' reports - and also likely to be v expensive. You would be best to look around for a small body repair shop locally - or buy a MIG welder and get stuck in!
This list from the Year book gives some contacts - some of whom are in the car resto business.

Sorry I can't give any practical help but there maybe a local classic car club (non marque specific maybe) that could steer you towards a reputable and sympathetic repairer. Take advice from the repair shop as it maybe a bigger job than you expect. You can also post photos on here to get advice from board members.

There is a Scottish MMOC branch who might also have knowledge of repair garages in your area - http://www.scottishmmoc.co.uk/

Hope this helps and lets us know how you get on.

As Jeff hints - it may be a bigger job than you think - so be sure to survey the whole car very thoroughly before starting any repairs. ie - take the sill covers off at the door openings so you can SEE the sills! All too often repairs are started and money spent - only for further financially crippling rot to be discovered. Best to see/know it ALL before starting.
