i have done 1000 miles in a month in the mog,on the way back from duxford last weekend the developed a missfire,so i looked at the dizzy cap that looked fine new last year ,i have a performance rotor arm that wont short out ,cleaned it up a little that was fine.i did the cardnialsin and baught a new coil and ht leads,and the car still did not want to start and when it did it was lumpy. i found a loose spade connection going to the coil. its always the silly things that you dont look for .the car was pulling like a train in 4th so i think ive cured the problem .

Well - you should fit it and use it - the one on the car at the moment is a KNOWN good spare - so you can rely on it working when the new one packs in - in a few weeks time!
