Wiring Loom on a 69' Saloon.

Post by richie2912 »

Hi All,

I am a tad confused with the loom i have in my car. Its a new loom and i was double checking my wiring as i am having some troubles with my lights.

According to my wiring diagram there is a single red wire that runs down the car and connects up both left and right rear lights (red to red). When i look at my loom i have 2 red wires that run to the rear of the car and finish at the offside rear corner of the boot. Trouble is only one of the 2 red wires is powered. So I am not sure if my rear lights are supose to share one wire or if they are to have their own and i have messed up the wiring somewhere else?

I am hoping this is the last problen i have so i can get the car MOT'd and back on the road after 4 / 5 years.

Thanks all.

Richard

Just use the live one - and isolate the 'spare' for the moment!

Fixed!!

It was the connection of the earth cable to my loom from my offside rear light unit. Changed the connector and all was fine!!

MOT time! :)
