Guys and girls, will a marina gearbox (5 speed) but straight up to my 1098 engine, with no mods whatsoever? Cheers, Ben.

The short answer is no, as there is no such thing as a 5 speed Marina box, the nearest is a Marina box with Dolomite internals to give a box with an overdrive, there is also an even rarer version using GT6 internals.
Owen Burtons book gives some idea of whats involved but its not straighforward and the only one I have seen took the owner 4 attempts to get it to work properly.

avoid the marina box, it is an enormous great heavy thing with links to the larger LT85 in the rangerover box, and is truely awfull to use..
Have seen a few minors with marina box's with dolomite o/d tacked on that worked ok.
To fit you would need new backplate and surjury to the bellhousing and move the starter.
Transmission tunnel needs a good thump to get over the box..
I would stick the a good 1098 ribbed box or fit a sierra 5 speed

Oh, i thought there was a 5 speed marina box, on the 1800cc. Well maybe i was wrong, sorry for the stupidity i wanted a five speed, but my gearbox is fine think i'll leave well alone.
