Rear axle identification?

Have recently bought a new, slightly modified, saloon as a project to do over the summer (will post up some pictures when its light) But cant identify the rear axle? Hope someone else can :) (sorry about the poor quality photos)
The drums appear to be 8". The studs have been bent as it was sat on wrong wheels, so cant identify the pcd but appears to be approx 3.8" but obviously more likely to be 3.75" 4" 100cm etc [frame]Image[/frame]
Other distinguishing feature are two large 'rings' at approx 45degrees to the axle line. And there are some other metal brackets at the end, although obviously these could be later additions.[frame]Image[/frame]

Looks like a Dolomite axle to me.

Indeed so, but since i didn't really get a definitive answer in that section, i thought i may well try here. And as you can see it would appear to have (hopefully) worked. But obviously any other confirmation would help as its difficult to find images of different rear axles to compare.

It has been light several times since you first post!
Better pictures might help but I suggest you start taking it apart, those studs will have to come out for a start.
Keep your eyes open for FoMoCo or other distinguishing features.

That's not an Atlas axle, the rear diff cover isn't removable.

What about Marina axle?

Good point about diff cover - forgot that bit
So, I'd agree, either Marina or Ital....

Thanks, will take some better pictures in the summer once i start stripping her and stuff. Triumph dolomite it seems then :) Not that surprising really considering the 1500 triumph engine, quite possibly from the same car, and it also explains the slightly odd telescopic damper arrangement. http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=32397
Thankyou for the responses and time taken to confirm this :D
