snaped Bolt on rear damper fixing

in taking off the rear damper,i have snaped of the nut holding the damper to bracket,It seems the usual suspects dont do this nut and bolt.
Not being too technicaly minded,What is the gauge of this bolt,or if i take the other nut and bolt to my local fastners shop would they know by looking at it what i would need ?

Just take off another - I can't remember what size it is (guess at 3/8") - but nothing very special.

The
Moss Catalogue has some very clear diagrams which are useful in getting the correct names and part numbers for spares. I used the printed catalogue almost as much as the workshop manual when I restored my Midget.
beware that many fastener suppliers no longer stock the imperial dimension nuts and bolts used on Minors, and may try to sell you the nearest equivalent metric size. I would never do this - the spanner sizes are different, the bolts don't fit properly, and sooner or later you'll mix up screws and try to screw a metric screw into an imperial captive nut.
A bag of assorted UNF nuts and bolts in 1/4", 5/16", and 3/8" diameters will be a good investment, and will reduce the temptation to re-use damaged bolts and knackered nyloc nuts. If you have an early car, you may need BSF as well - and these are getting harder to find and more expensive.
