Salloon targa top

Hi to all. Only just realised this Forum exists, despite being a long time member.
After owning a couple of convertibles ( amongst hundreds of other minors) I decided I wanted to have a bash at a targa roof.
I wasn't too happy with the stability of the convertible and wanted something a bit more practical.
I bought a scruffy, but very solid 2 door with no history a couple of years ago and after a lot of thought got stuck in and cut a big hole in the roof.
I think the hole is just right and I have already made up slot-in stainless hoops to throw a canvas over.
Unfortunatelly I havent had time to iron out all the fixing details on the canvas yet, so I can only go out in guarenteed sunshine. Of course we have a lot of that!
Will see about getting a photo up when I have it all finished, but in the mean time-
Has anybody got a beyond-repair saloon that I could use the roof off to make a hard top cover for rainy days. I would either jigsaw out the panel, or I could take the whole car away if so desired.
Ideally I could do for it to be no more than about 50 miles from Oldham/Manchester and cheap.
Thanks
