after having a lot of work done, and being off the road for a month, i got lily b home 2 days ago and now the exhaust has sheared just in front of the rear wheel.
My question is; can i get a new exhaust fitted at any old exhaust place or is she going back to Chertsey?
any help appreciated as ever!

Most exhaust fiting places would be unlikely to have a Minor exhaust in stock. However if you bought one via mail order I'm sure you could get someone locally to fit it - it's not a difficult job. Or just fit it yourself and save some money

Get yourself a stailess steel system, it will last almost for ever. Buy a system in 3 sections, it is a lot easier to fit and don't forget the clamps and supports.

A decent set of ramps makes the job easier. You'll want a tube of exhaust sealant paste too.

A fairly straight forward job. As long as you can get the car high enough to get under and move the pipes around. Join them together in position under the car and line them up, then support the front pipe with a jack to hold it in position whilst you tighten the manifold clamp. Then check the alignment and tighten the other clamps and support straps

Very easy DIY job - but I expect most exhaust places WILL get you a system and fit it - but I hate to think the price.
Back to Chertsey ???????? Ehh?

exhaust places normally only charge around £15.00 to fit an exhaust

BM - she just had loads of work on the cross brace and where the suspension had decided to come adrift, and some insurance work done at chertsey motors, so i could take her back there, but if it's relatively simple i'll buy the one above from bull motif and give it a go.......
i swear she spends more time with a garage or the AA than she does on the road!

Ahhh - I see! Maybe you will get away with just fitting the rear section of the new exhaust for now - to keep it simple. Minor motoring really IS about DIY - maybe you can get enrolled in a Car Maintenance class in a local College?
