My Traveller has just pased its MOT first time with no advisories. :D

Nothing special about that, you may say, but this is the first time I've "gone it alone" instead of "taking it to the man" to get its MOT.

The odd thing is that last year it had an advsory for play in the off-side track-rod end. I bought a new one, but never got round to fitting it. This year, with another couple of thousand miles on, no mention of the play...

In fact the tester told me he thought it was as nice underneath as it was on top, and he was very happy with it.

Just goes to show I guess.

(Not sure what, though).

Well done! They are allowed to use some 'discretion' on things like TRE. You should check it yourself though - just in case it is quite badly worn, and they simply missed it. They are 'human' I think.............

I couldn't feel any movement up/down side to side when pulling and pushing the track rod, but it does rotate very easily on the "ball" compared to the other one. Would that be the play the tester noted last year?

I suppose since I have the part, I might as well fit it if I can get the old one off.

You would feel it as side to side movement - if it was worn. Just keep the spare in stock.
