The Northern Ireland branch held the Annual North Down Dispaly and Rally yesterday Saturday 24th April. 28 cars in total attended, 20 of them Minors with many more travellers than usual out for the event! The oldest car was a 1947 Wolsely 10 Police car complete with a big brass bell on the front and the newest was a 1978 Mg BGT.
We met at Tesco Sprinhill for breakfast and time to browse the shopping centre. We travelled in convoy the short distance to Crawfordsburn Country Park were parking was reserved for us to enjoy our picnic lunches and have a stroll along the beach or just look at the cars or have a general chat!!
At 4pm we headed off again in convoy to Bangor and parked up at the McKee Clock carpark, dinner was held in the Marine Court Hotel in Bangor and the Mayor and Mayoress joined us for the 4 course dinner. This event is sponsored by the North Down Borough Coucnil every year, a big thank you to them once again!
All the drivers recieved an award for taking part and we had a raffle with the top prize being a fully kitted out tool box. All in all a great and relaxed day out, mant thanks to Chris and Joan McGregor for organising the day![frame]
