I know it's VERY individual to the person, but I was wondering (for females of the board!) about how much I can expect to pay with footman james' club deal?

you men can post your quotes too! (: I'm very interested in insurance premiums at the moment.

When I was 18 it was 400ish for me. 5 years on (it's not that long!!!) I've paid 114 for me and his lordship (27) both with licenses since 17 and no accidents/convictions in the last 5 years (although I got a ticket yesterday, bugga!)

Just turned 18 in feb, but i have been paying £530 tpf&f and was quoted about £900 fully comp, for my standard (apart from stereo) minor. This also includes my dad who was on free of charge. With footman James.

Add at least one person who is lower risk than yourself, preferably a parent and the premium should come down.

I'm 24, 2 minors insured with footman james at £350 per year. The agreed value for both is £3000 each. But the mileage is only 1500 per year and my dad is down as the main driver (don't tell). But for £350 I can live with it.

Being dishonest is bad enough, bragging about it is worse.

It's not a "victimless crime", either. Honest people pay more because some lie to get cheaper premiums. And why do people assume that, faced with a claim, especially a serious one, insurance companies won't investigate, and find the truth?

Usually, insurers require the policy to be in the name of the main driver, which has further implications: if the young driver turns out not to be immune from errors after all, it hits the old man's No Claims, and (probably) the premium he pays for his own car, and the young turk, when he finally tries to get insurance himself, has both zero no claims and an accident to declare.

bum, now all i need to do is get the car on the road. is the cost that damaging? my mates bug costs him (read: his mother  ) £800 a year.

just a little off thread, but does anyone else get super peeved when their mates parents pay for everything? my mum and dad paid for half my car(£800). the afore mentioned mates mum spent £1500 on that nasty car, and pays his insurance, and his lessons. he dropped out of school and this is his reward. i go to school every blinking day and have to pay myself. fair? - lifes not fair (a quote from my mum)

Yes FJ do do cover for a learner (17) under the "Young Driver's Scheme" which they do solely for the MMOC. You have to be a member of the MMOC and give your membership number when getting the quote. This "deal" doesn't appear on their online insurance quoting. You do have to 'phone them.
