Does anyone have an easy way to lubricate the speedo cable short of buying one of those ludicrously expensive things from Frost (i think)
At the moment the speedo is doing an impersonation of a windscreen wiper

Hello billloban,

its not that easy but you can lubricate the speedo cable after taking it out of the car.

You have to hang it vertically and build a small cone from modelling clay at one end and fill it up with oil. Wait (it might take a full day) till it drips out the other end. You might have to top up the cone in between.

Good luck :D

I've never done a speedo cable on a Morris, but if it's anything like the ones I have done, just pull the cable out of the housing, wipe it clean, liberally coat it with a light grease and re-insert it.
If necessary you could clean out the housing with a strong thin wire, a skinny pull-through and some sort of solvent, being careful not to get the pull-through stuck inthe housing.

If it's wobbling that badly, it's time for a new inner. And yes -just wipe it through your greasy hand!
