Oil Pressure Gauge / Water temp

I'm tempted to fit a gauge but don't want to spoil the look of my dash. I think it might discretely go under the dash at the far right near the door. Does anyone have one mounted there? Pics? Don't want to use the drivers glove box, I need somewhere to put my gloves
Could I fit a dual gauge like I have in the Midget? Where would the capillary sender for temp go? On the Midget it screws into the radiator. Can it go in the head where the blanking plug is below the thermostat housing?

i had my gauges mounted under the dash as you suggest for a while sorry no photos.
and yes i took the temperature off on the head as you suggest.. i seem to recall with the tim gauge i used the temperature sensor was not seated / sealed properly before all the thread on the nut had been used up so i had to make an adaptor up

Yes - my extra gauges are discreetly at my right knee - not plastered up in the glovebox looking like a 747 cockpit! Problem with the double gauge is a) expensive and b) useless if the thermo part gets damaged. And yes - you will need a spacer/adapter to fit the 'bulb' into the head.

So just stick with the oil pressure gauge for ease and cost saving. OK.

I mounted mine to the left of the steering but it's a matter of personal taste.[frame]

Thanks Declan and thanks for the link. Nice car. They don't look too out of place there. What is the one in the centre under the parcel shelf, is it a clock?
If I am going to use a temp gauge, any idea where I can get an adapter to attach to the head?

On my first Minor I had such gauges but over on the far right (not possible on tourer). They were very discreet but perfectly visible there

The main reason that I mounted it on the left was because I have the heater control and hazard warning knobs on the right. Another advantage is that on the left they are not obscured by the indicator stalk.[frame]

The smiths clock is on the parcel shelf.
Here's a link to the temperature sender unit. They also sell gauges. I used the Intermotor sender part no. 5271 from ebay. You will also find plenty of gauges on ebay or from scrap yards.

You can also see the mini heater recently installed with the variable speed control knob-works great but is not a straight swop by any means.
