Anyone got any suggestions for this please?:
I am on my way to the Alps in a 1967 Morris 1000 saloon, and may reach about 2,500 metres. Are there any adjustments I should make to the engine to get up those steep gradients without a struggle?

Fit a supercharger? Fortunately the SU carb is a very clever device which works on air mass flow, so it will automatically meter the correct amount of petrol for the air available.

Would that be the Grossglockner road by any chance? My little Polo hire car had a little less grunt at the top of that. As has been said, a blower is a good idea (Not suggesting you fit one for one trip); when Renault brought out their turbo F1 car, at first the DFVs and the like had the edge on it overall BUT at places like Kylami, the turbo had an advantage.

Just take is steadily and enjoy the trip. Sounds a lovely drive. A well maintained car should take it in it's stride. Don't forget to take some photos
