Hmm, do we want a water temperature of around 80°C ? Drat that I am more diesel-familiar! VW T4 doesn't go out enough for me to remember... Interesting you go so far in Moty.. Thas' good and reliable then!

Wow! No fears, then! You don't book the AA before you leave home? :o I had a work colleague, talked cars at lunch every day, had a Citroen 1.9D. It wasn't the engine, it was the other clever parts they have. Nigh-on every Monday lunchtime we'd hear how they 'got there' over the weekend but on the way back, they sent for the AA and were low-loadered back home! One colleague praised him for getting his money's worth from the AA and I, safely from the other end of the table once, asked if he'd thought of sending for the low-loader BEFORE they left home for their trip... :o

Just make sure the breathers are free, not choked with gunk, and one is connected to the carb inlet with the other open to allow air in to vent the crankcase. I would fit a 74 for summer in the hope it will be a 'scorcher', but for winter running 88 or even 92.
