Whats the price at your pumps ? ..Im in west lothian EH47 post code area we are £1.16.9 for unleded up to £1.22.9 ...

Its £1.14 a litre in west yorkshire but I was delivering in Bedale Thursday and saw it at £1.26 a litre I think its time we did something bloody government.

1.26 you could buy v power for less then that

1.23 and i am putting the price up by 2p on monday morning, ahh the power.

I have just had a email sircular suggesting that if everyone stopped buying from the two top petrol companies BP AND ESSO they may be forced to drop their prices .As the government wont do anything because they are receiving more money the higher the prices are.Would this work ?.Trouble is how many petrol suplliers with other names are owned by the top two but a lot of people seem to think it is a good idea.I do 20miles a day to work and have for the last twenty year and it seems now i am going to work to pay for the petrol so i can get to work

£1.19 at Tesco Newownabbey, my green Minor managed to take £34.00 of fuel the other day.

1.17p - 1.18p in St Neots area. Funny as we've always been the most expensive area.

Folks, go on Google (or search engine of your choice) and enter "cheap UK petrol" in the search bar, press go and you will get a number of websites that tell you the cheapest petrol in your area. That is the only way (apart from lobbying MP's about the ludicrous amount of tax we pay on the fuel) we stand any chance of getting prices down.

Drive them down by competition!

I use the site http://www.petrolprices.com/ just to keep informed locally on pricing, and if I happen to pass a cheaper petrol station, I usually fill up, but at the end of the day it's only a matter of pence I'm saving, still "every little helps" ( no pun intended), they are normally more expensive here on Sheppey.

Thanks for reminding me about that John. A friend showed me that, I just forgot to use it. Fortunately the garage a minute away from me is the same price as Tesco and is Castrol fuel ;)

After raving about this website today, I have just been stung an extra 2pence per litre, after following it's pricing, so when I got to the filling station the price had miraculously increased by 2 pence, I give up.

I'm in a state of shock .

I got the V8 out today and the tank was between empty and a quarter full. I filled it up with Shell super unleaded and the bill came to nearly £60.00 . I haven't used that car much for a while and it has got quite a large tank (My father once had a Frazer Nash and that held 25 gallons); the Midget tank holds only 7 gallons and the Traveller about 6, so filling those doesn't seem so painful. I don' think I've ever spent that much in fuel in my life; thank God I use a bike most of the time!!

When I started driving, petrol was just under £2.00 per gallon and it wasn't that long before that it had reached £1.00 gallon (It went up a lot at the end of the 1970s). No wonder MG Midget prices are quite strong at the moment!! Still it was nice to have that big lump of an engine under my right foot . Despite its size, its no more thirsty than the 1.8 litre MGB, as the engine isn't exactly stretched hauling around an MGB GT body.

I'm hoping we get good weather for the Wye Valley run next weekend and that I have enough fuel to complete it!!!!!!

It's the refiners and the ones who pump it out the ground we have to blame. The government takes heaps in tax, but it always has done, even when it was at 79p per litre late 2008. The companies who make the stuff supply the market with just enough barrels to meet demand therefore keeping prices high. We can blame ourselves too, look at the queues at petrol stations as the prices rise..... pushing demand up even more and in turn pushing up prices even more. Even if we stop buying from one company, the chances are they also supply other makes to keep their pumps topped up. They all buy from each other at the end of the day.

Basically the answer is..... block supply or stop buying the stuff. The price will soon plummet but that won't happen as we all need it to live.

A couple of days ago it cost just over £40 to fill my saloon's (standard-size) tank.

It's certainly making it much less likely that I'll be able to afford to do any more long road trips.

That sounds about right have just filled my tank half full and it's just cost me twenty quid, the pleasures of motoring

I asked the person at the petrol station if they did mortgages - just put £85 in my Lexus

I'm drive a modern(ish) diesel and have started limiting myself to speeds below 70mph on the motorway
Crumbs, at this rate we won't be running out of oil quite as quick as expected!

Every little helps but I think the fuel saved by having no aircraft flying for the last few days will have more of an effect!!

I have to wonder whether we have become too dependent on air travel (So I gather, they even fly in fruit and cut flowers). Certainly our apparent dependence on it does rather make a mockery of the various environmental initiatives we are encouraged to pursue.
