I have unsuccessfully tried to modify my 1967 minor traveller to wash wipe.
My method is using 2 electronic timer modules using IC 555’s they each energise a relay one for the electric wash pump and one for the wiper motor.
The timers and relays are working as required:-
• One push of a momentary push switch
• Starts both timers
• Energising both relays
• The relay which is timed to stay on longest also continues to feed power to both timers.
• The first timer stops (this stops the wash relay) water jet stops
• Second timer stops this stops the wipers.
This is the theory, what I believed would be a simple connection to the wiper switch from the relay feeding the wiper motor will not work.
Knowing very little about auto electrics I have probably gone totally the wrong way about it.
The wiring diagram appears to show two connections at the switch but I have three.
Please any assistance to make this work would be appreiciated.

this is because the wiper motor is permanently live and the switch earths the motor thus running it.

Just make the relay for the motor a volt free contact, and connect this in parallel across the switch terminals. The switch should have a black, connected to earth and a black\green tracer connected to the wiper motor.

Sounds too complicated for me. Change the wiper switch for a light switch and wire the wipers to the side light terminal and the washers to the headlamp terminal. 1st click = wipers, 2nd click = wipers and washers.

I'm trying to imagine how you rigged a solenoid - to push in the washer plunger ??

Bmcecosseg, sorry you must have miss understood my explanation but you have given me an idea.
The driver’s seat is sagging a little so if I cut the pillow off an inflatable air bed and attach it to the driver’s seat. Make a connection to the screen water jets from the water filled pillow via a solenoid valve with say 3mm flexible pipe. Sitting in the driver’s seat will pressurise the water.
Connect the solenoid valve to a two position light switch as Mike Perry has suggested then hey presto a system with no pump to worry about and a driver’s seat height back to normal as long as I have water.
My original system was designed to ensure water on the screen before the wipers move trying to stop scratching the screen with dry wiper movements.
It does work and I am proud of what I and Alec have done, I could have made it with less effort by purchasing a unit from a current production car but wanted to do it myself I did not quite mange this as I needed some assistance from Alec but I was close.

Heh heh! Just jangling your chain. I simple press the washer plunger before switching on the wipers - it works.
