Clutch noise I think

Post by ayr41 »

Can anyone point me in the right direction with this please. When I turn the engine on all is well, then when I initially depress the clutch pedal I get a weering noise for want of a better description like two marbles running together. Then after engaging the gears a couple of times the noise disappears and the Million goes like a good-un not to be heard again until I start her up again, she does not get used much in the winter months, where should I start to look, any ideas or thoughts most welcome, many thanks Stephen. 8)

Sounds like a clutch release bearing failing.

Just whipp out the gearbox and change it. :D

There's another thread running along the same lines..... Does your car have the fancy 'ball bearing' thrust - or just the normal carbon thrust ? If you take out the rubber bungs - you can peer into the bellhousing and see if there is anything obviously wrong - but since you say it's ok when running -I wouldn't worry about it too much.
