Seat belts for a 2 door

I would like to fit front seat belts to my 1964 2 door minor.
Should my car have mounting points in it, if so does anyone know where they are ?
If no mounting points, do I need to drill them out or weld them on ?
I have seen the kits the on ESM site, there are also mounting plates and nuts, will I need them?

Last question, would static or inertia reel belts be the best option.

Thanks.

Pete

A 1964 car should have a mounting point built into the sill step and the floor also should have mounting point already there. It may not have a point at the at the window edge, it should be fairly obvious. I have seen a couple of cars with a bolted on bit here rather than another mounting point.

I think the static belts are better on a 2 door, its not really long enough to stretch out the inertia real belts and I found that they end up sticking. There may be a better type on the markert though now.

Pete,
Mine is also 64 but I had to drill holes. I would go for the inertia reel type. I had no problem with the length.

ive just done this at the weekend and it was a pretty simple task, i used the inertia kit from bull motif and it was a simple bolt on procedure in a 1968 2door,
theres 3 captive bolts, one in the floor infront of the rear seats on the transmission tunnel side(for the plug), one on the window rail (pretty obvious) and another on directly below in the sill for the reel. There instructions i got where pretty lacking with tiny diagrams, but its all rather straight forward.
the hardest part for me was driving the bolts into the captive nuts in the sill as when the sill was replaced it was all sprayed and mine had filled up with paint and lots of other cr@p.
So in conclusion it should be well with in your ability as even a newb liek me can do it, the kit comes with everything you need to fit it theres even bolts and brackets left over(from the different mounting options)!
if you need a little visual help i could take some pics at the weekend?
hope this helps!

No.comment, I'd personally love to see some pictures, as I too intend to fit some better belts in my Mog.
