Gear Knob

Hi

I have this type of gear knob on my 63 traveller, the spare traveller (62) has the same type, not pear shaped so I assume this is the correct fitment.

The lettering is raised, does anyone know if the letters were painted white - I would think not as the paint would just wear off?

Mines not as worn as PSLs

Thanks

The M1000 gear knob is the same shape as those advertised by Regalia but made from plastic or bakalite.
The gear positions were engraved and painted white. See Moss catalogue P. 18.

I have had a 62 948cc car and still have a 63 1098cc car and they both had the same type you have pictured. I would think the newer type came in with the new dashboard layout.

Our early 63 948cc has a gearknob identical to yours , no evidence of any paint left.

Thanks for the replies, looks like its original fitment without paint then.

Ive just looked in my parts book and owners manual which came with the car and theyre round ones shown the same.
