yes its not a morris just been given a 2door a35 has anyone on here had one? are they easy to work on? where the best place for parts etc? thanks

Yes had one for 11 years before outgrowing it a getting a Morris. What do you need to know?

Like the Minor in many ways. Access to the engine bay is much trickier as the bonnet is smaller than the Morris. Parts/panels are available. Try Bull M as already suggested. The parts are mostly interchangeable with Morris, and where not they have them all.

thanks for the info. can you fit a larger engine + box? this has a 998cc. will the minor 1098 fit to the gearbox what other wheels fit? etc

As road cars, the Minor was the better car, in that being wider (And with better steering) it handled better (It was also more roomy). However, when "Tweaked" for circuit racing, the A35 was made to handle and then its lighter weight gave it an advantage over the Minor. Then the Mini came along and blew them both out of the water!!

racing driver Peter Brock {Aussie Legend } put a gm 6 cylinder engine in an A30 and raced it all over Aussie particularly Mount Panarama with lots of succes. A35 as far as Im concerned are good runabout cars , would have one tomorrow if I came across one

Common upgrade is 1275 engine+ box + disc brakes from a Spridget - all bolts straight on ! Lots of wheels available - since common size with Spridget/Minor/Mini as far as PCD is concerned.

When the Frogeye was designed, the brief was to use as many A35 parts are possible (Right down to the steering wheel). They made an exception with the steering, which was Minor. As to the brakes, I'm not sure, as A30 had hydro-mech brakes and I'm not sure whether these were carried over to the A35.

Yes they were. I still have nightmares........

But the Spridget front discs and rear drums are easily fitted - with hydraulics all round.

A friend of mine was driving north during the worst of the weather over Christmas in his A35 unfortunately the heater wasnt working and the windscreen was iceing up on the inside. He told his passanger to use a tin of de-icer spray which was duly done. the visibility got even worse - until he wiped the windscreen with his hand.
There were 2 tins of spray stuff one of them was grey primer

then they warmed up and put on a top coat
