Handbrake cable

The passenger side hadbrake cable on my Million has been damaged by the exhaust, I have bought another and was wondering if it is a job I could do myself. I ask as I have no pit only some ramps but was a little dubious of using these having I assume to leave the handbrake off when fitting. Is it an easy job or better left to a mechanic, any advice on how to fit would be most welcome, many thanks Stephen.

Support the car on axle stands at the rear and chock the front wheels with bricks and you will be OK

It's a VERY easy job - just put the one rear wheel up on the ramp - on level ground - and chock the other wheels carefully. Be sure to grease the new cable well - and route it away from the exhaust!

Also grease the end of the inner cable where it joins on to the wheel cylinder as it tends to rust and fray at the end.
