good afternoon all

Now that young Rich Legg is making good progress with my beauty its time to start planning the rebuild to going on the road :P The orginal headlamps where basically well past the sell by date along with the bucket. I have been looking on the parts sites, you can by sealed beam ones,pre-focus , 2 pin bucket in other words a lot of choice.

any advice, please!

Wipac Quadoptic Halogen headlights and plastic bowls. All the main suppliers should be OK, just compare prices. You will also need three pin connectors if they are not already fitted.

The dynamo is quite capable of keeping up with the slight increase in power consumption of Halogen bulbs although the occasional top up with a battery charger during the winter months if all your journeys are with the lights on is recommended.

There is NO increase in power consumption - if upgrading from sealed beams to halogens. If from old 'bulb' headlights to halogens - then yes - there is a ~ 1 amp increase per headlight - which the dynamo will easily handle.
