Hi,
I need to replace the brushes on my dynamo. How can I tell if it's a C39 or a C40?
Regards,
Pascal

Thanks - as you can see on the picture my brushes were pretty worn. No wonder it wasn't charging!

The C39 dynamo has nut and bolt terminals, a grease plunger on the end plate and on the earlier dynamos there is an inspection cover which makes inspecting the brushes a doddle. The brushes are a different size and the output is less than the C40.

Hi,
With new brushes all was rosy for a while until one of the brush springs went astray. Back to taking the dynamo apart.
I looked on the ESM and Bull Motif web sites but couldn't find any of these springs. Does anybody happen to know the reference, and where I can get them from?
Regards
Pascal

Looks like the reference is RTC466. I could find them on Mini and Land Rover web sites, but not on Morris Minor web sites, strangely enough.
