I have a chance of getting either MG Metro or Rover Metro seats for my Minor,
And I was wondering if the runners from a 2 door metro will be ok or do I need special ones?

Also would the rear seats of a metro fit in the Minor too

You would need seat adapter bases for the front seats, Newton Commercial supply them at a price. I doubt if the back seats would fit, take a few measurements.

i fitted the rear seats from a metro in to a 2 door saloon. bear in mind that they were just for show as i think i only drove about five miles with someone in the back of the car.. so if you bear that in mind..

I flipped the seat.. so the back became the base, it slipped in without problems it just left a little bit at either side so i made up some "buckets" to fill the gap and give extra storage.

I took the base apart, cut up a piece of mdf the shape of the minor back rest, i then cut the foam to be flat against the mdf and pulled the metro cover over the foam and stappled it on the back of the mdf..

as i said it looked the part but would not be very comfortable for long period of time

Can I not use the seat frames that comes with the metro seats?

if we are talking front seats..

the seat frames that come with metro are flat. the moggy floor is anything but flat where the seats need to be attached. Also the floor area where the metro seat is attached is raised considerably so the seat itself sits a lot lower than the moggy seat.. when you have the two seats next to each other you will see what i mean.

I would imagine that the newton comercial or whoevers bases you use would retain the metro seat frames. The adpator would be flat on on one side and curvered on the other ( to suit the minor floor) the flat side would then bolt on to the metro seat using the original mounting points on the metro seat base.

You can off course make up your own adpators, i cut up an set of old front seats which i then ( well someone else ) welded to a flat piece of steel.

Metro seats in a previously owned Minor. They are sitting on Newton Commercial bases.

And my present seats Rover 200 on a box section frame. Not Metro seats but the procedure for fitting was identical - removal of all the brackets that would have connected to the floor to leave bare runners.
I found with the Rover seats the runners were ideally placed level with the top of the cills. This will depend of your height of course.

I would recommend you get beefier box sections and weld the l-plates to them. And note that to get the plates to sit tight against the floor panel I have cut slits in the carpet.
