Hi all,i was wondering wether a standard combined cast iron inlet/zorst manifold off a 60s mini will fit the minor?i know it will fit physically on to the engine, but not sure wether the standard pipe will attatch to the manifold.having looked at pics on the net they look very similar.

Yes, same exit point/angle used throughout. Some may have differing outlet sizes depending on the engine size and tune,ie Marina/1275 is, I believe, larger outlet flange to the 998/948/1098.

It will fit - but it's not the best.

i dont have the money to buy the best, looking at it the mini one is better than the minor one,i might also open up the holes in the manifold to match the head if they are smaller.thanks guys, saves me a lot of hassle as i can stick my 295 head and manifold straight on with the hs4 carb

Ahh - well - manifold from a 60s Mini won't take an HS4 carb. You will need to get one from a much later Mini - one that had the larger carb!

well i said 60s,but i already have a mini manifold with an hs4 carb fitted,so maybe its later, looks the same as the minor one

If it has an HS4 carb on - it can't be the same! The hole should be larger (1.5") - and the mounting studs should be set at an angle - not straight up and down ?

i shall stick a pic up,by the same i meant the position of the fitting for the pipe, and obviously the bit that goes on the engine, and yes it has the slanted holes

Oh well - no need for pics - that will be fine! You should look out for an MG Metro alloy inlet - much better!
