Curious, will a 1300 Austin Maestro Engine fit a morris?

It can be done. I expect someone will send you the contact details for the workshop that does the conversion.

I'm guessing that the Maestro 1300 had the Mini/Metro style gears in the sump, in which case it’s not going to be easy. The Mini also had a different crank, to accommodate its unusual clutch arrangement.

Not sure about the layout 100% but I think the gearbox was separate.
There is a thread here with some info....

They are pretty scarce. Best to avoid the very early 1275s, as they had a weak block (But a lovely crank to help compensate) and the very late 1275s had inferior cranks to the in between ones.

The Midget one will fly in; I think the Marina one is next best, though will require some alteration (Exactly what, I don't know).
