The details on the DVLA website are as follows:
Date of Liability 01 08 1994
Date of First Registration 03 04 1970
Year of Manufacture Not Available
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1098CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour BLUE
So it hasn't been on the road since 1994. Could be in someone's garage waiting for some TLC.

Thanks for this. It was sold about 96/97 with paint trouble, having not been on the road since 94 as you said, so maybe...any way to confirm whether it's been scrapped or not?

You could try a hpi or similar check but this only records information that the dvla receive, and before sorn etc a lot of people just did not bother to inform when they scrapped a vehicle. The important thing is dont give up looking! my morris minor had been owned by my late grandfather in the 1970s and by my dad after, my dad sold it in 1981, I began looking for the car in the mid 90s and gave up but by chance I came across the car in a banger racing lock up and bought it back in 2000! The car is still undergoing a long term restoration and has not been taxed since 1987! So on paper it looks like my car got binned in 1987 but this is not the case. Whist I was in search of my car I was amazed by how many I came across in garages etc, there are plenty about waiting to be restored, lets hope yours is one of them, good look with your search and keep us posted.
