Changing Front Wheel Bearings

This may be common sense to some of you but a voyage of discovery for me! I recently changed the front wheel bearings on my 1964, 4 door Morris 1000 and when finished realised the wheel still had plenty of play in it - just what I wanted to get rid of. I posted a message board and got some useful ideas. Still flummoxed I phoned ESM who supplied the parts and discovered that the inner race of each bearing had a thin edge and a fatter edge. I was advised to make sure the fatter edge of the inner bearing race pointed away from the centre of the hub before putting it back on the stud axle and finishing the job. With the bearings put in like this they work together as a 'team' and the problems was instantly solved.
