As my recent post, I have been experiencing a sudden rapid increase in oil consumption and blue smoke, accompanied by an increasing flat low-mid range, as though a plug/ plugs are fouling, which cleared with revs. The exhaust has been getting farty, but I didn't place any significance on the fact 'til it fell off at the joint to the "LCB" section tonight.
I duly welted it back together and retightened the Ubolt, and.......

No more farting.....
No more flat spot.....!
AND.....
No more laying blue smoke screens......!
I'm not saying the engine isn't pretty worn, but would never have expected such a difference from a blowing exhaust. (I could understand if the whole lot had fallen off, causing 'orrible negative pressure wavey things).

Expand and explain, please

All the running issues are easily accepted - but the purple haze.......... not convinced!

What a great thing coincidence is! The lack of smoke may have had something to do with the lack of engine oil- she's fair drinking it! So now for another thread..............

I thought you would like the purple-haze idea LA!
