Wiper wheel box

Hi
I have a worn wiper spindle on my '69 van and have purchased new wheel box. How do I change it?! It seems it's not possible to simply pull the existing wheel box off the cable so before I strip the whole lot out I thought I would seek advice
Can anyone please advise on how to do this?
Thanks
Martin

You will need to remove ( or pull it out slightly) the cable that turns the wheel box. To do this remove the top from the wiper motor, 4 small bolts, carefully remove the circlip from the electricial contact and loosen of the nut at the back of the motor. The cable should then pull out easily.
To reset the wiper parking once you have re assembled the wheel box and put the cable back turn the round bit on top of the wiper motor until it stops in the right place.

Thanks David
I was hoping there was a simpler answer. It's the passenger side that's worn so now I'll have to get at the driver's side too!

Normally it is only the part of the wheel in contact with the cable that wears. If it has not been turned before then you should be able to turn the wiper spindle 180 degrees and get plenty more wear out of it.
To avoid wear on the cable and spindles try to not to use the wipers on a dry screen

But I think it's the 'spindle' part - where the blade fits on - that's worn . You will likely need to take the glovebox liners out to get access. TBH - I would consider fitting TWO new ones while in there and then that's the job done !

Thanks all - it was the splines that the wiper fits on that were worn. Anyway job is done now - not as bad as I expected if a little greasy! Also pleased with decent Bullmotif parts after a couple of false starts with wrong items advertised on Ebay!
One down, plenty more to go!
