Registers

Post by MMOC »

The MMOC has individual Registers which cater for the rarer Minors, from the early series MM's, through to the 1950's series II's and the Light Commercial Vehicles. There's also a Modified and a Custom Register for those of you who like a change from the standard specification, or if you get a kick from layin' stripes down the drag strip. Marina engine or Rover V8 power - anything goes!

Rallies

Post by MMOC »

From the local and regional rallies organised by individual branches, right through to the National Rally with a thousand Minors attending, the MMOC events calendar is always packed. There are various judging and non-judging categories for you to show off your Mog, or not. Trophies and awards, games and prizes are usually in abundance. Trade stands and autojumbles provide an ideal opportunity to search for spares. Rallies are also about meeting people, making new friends and exchanging ideas. Many rallies are spread out over a weekend, so camping out is usually popular (it's amazing what you can fit inside a Morris Minor!).
The annual National Rally has been held at venues such as Harewood House near Leeds, Billing Aquadrome in Northants, the famous Knebworth Park and Sandringham! In 1998 the MMOC Celebrated 50 years of the Morris Minor at Blenhiem Palace, with the largest turnout of Morris Minors ever - 2,300. The National Rally is the largest Morris Minor event of the year. Consequently it has the largest gathering of Morris Minors, their owners and the specialists anywhere in the world! This is the place to buy, sell, learn and enjoy! The MMOC is also represented by club members at most of the major indoor classic car shows.

Concours

Post by MMOC »

If spit, polish and originality is what you crave, then the MMOC concours scene is second to none. The judging is rigorous, efficient and often controversial - but is always taken very seriously. Cars compete at very high standards both in MMOC events and at national classic car shows, where Morris Minors often take top prizes. Yet there's no stuffiness or "we're better than you" attitude.
Although only a small percentage of MMOC members enter their cars for Concours competition, it nevertheless helps to preserve Morris Minors in their original, and sometimes even better than factory, condition.

The MMOC is associated with the RAC and offers discounts on RAC membership. Not that your Morris Minor will ever break down of course! And if you want to go motor racing, then the MMOC's links with the RAC motor sports association will get you going!

Technical Advice

Post by MMOC »

Help with the location of rare spare parts has always been a service that the MMOC has offered. A more recent introduction is the appointment of a full time Technical Advisor. MMOC members can phone, fax or write to our Technical Advisor with any Moggie related problem. The phone/fax hotline is printed in Minor Matters along with a Technical Tips section.

Spare Parts

Post by MMOC »

If you need help to find that elusive spare part or accessory, then the MMOC can help. Minor Matters magazine contains the largest Morris Minor classified listings and trade adverts than anywhere in the world. If you can't find what you're looking for then they Club can help. Many of these rare spare parts are often so rare that most Morris Minor traders do not find it cost effective to buy or store them. Therefore the MMOC Spares Secretary, Bryan Gostling, searches for some of the very rare spares from the early Series MM and Series II Minors. These are available to Club members through Minor Matters.

Insurance

Post by MMOC »

The MMOC has a specialist insurance scheme to provide members with cover for their Morris Minors. A recent survey conducted by an insurance expert within the Club showed this to operate one of the best policies for classic cars. Insurance valuations for cars outside the Practical Classics price guide, can be arranged.

Overseas Trips

Post by MMOC »

Every year fifty to a hundred mad Minor owners pile their Moggies high and set off for Europe, often covering a few thousand miles round trip. "Minors On Tour" (MOT) is one of the most traditional and well supported events in the MMOC. A truly excellent holiday cum rally, it's a chance to spend a week or three in the sun and catch up with fellow Minor owners from places like Denmark, Germany, France and Switzerland.
For details of this and previous year's trips, visit the Minors on Tour website.
