Transferring Registration

As well as the Minor I own whats left of a 1957 Ford Prefect thats been in the family since new. I have the V5C. Does anyone know of a way to retain/transfer the reg no (not worth anything but sentimental). It will never pass an MOT and is effectively just a crumbling pile of bits surrounding an engine. In any case Fords are not my thing so a several decade restoration project is out of the question.

Not without an MOT or a very recently expired MOT (in some cases). If it's been off the road for a while it will die with the car....
