You know when you get that moment of thinking 'hrm, I wonder how much the restoration has cost so far'? Don't scratch that itch.
Having been to see her, and seen how much better she looks structurally I'm not moaning, just...wishing I was richer
And JLH? They rock. Keep me up to speed on everything and the quality of their work is great, and my car is; finally; the right shape and actually welded together in all the places that she should be.

Just keep your mind on what you will end up with - a solid car that will last you years and won't lose money the way a modern car does. PLus you will have an enjoyable car to drive and enjoy. I actually did add all my costs of minor ownersship up before I started my restoration and including purchase and maintenance (not petrol or tax(before it was free) or insurance and over 22yrs of ownership it worked out at £450 to £500 a year which didn't seem too bad. As this would barely cover the annual service of a modern car and I know folk who spend this in a month handing it over to the local publican or bookie or whatever.

Jeff I thought that the demon drink and gambling were prohibited in the land of the Tartan Taliban (Inverness for those in a more southerly location)

Please dont mention money spent on cars within earshot of my good lady she recently saw a list of proposed future purchases and began to compare it with more important things like shoes!

Agreed Kate - I've been and discussed "ball park" figures with Jono. He's definately having my business - it's just a case of me saving up for it now

Aye, the thing that makes it worthwhile is having seen the workmanship, and the time and effort that goes into producing an utterly fantastic end product.
That, and one of my friends told me what new cars I could have bought for the predicted total spend, and frankly I don't want any of them. At the end of this I shall have an awfully shiny Minor

Kate normally on this site you hear us moaning about some supplier not being up to scratch (like your previous rather wareing experience). Its good to hear that there are still companies around like JLH and the more people publicise it the better. It'll be nice to see some pics when she is all finished

I offered to swap my Traveller with the DB5 Jonathon had in his workshop this afternoon. No deal
