PCD Wheels

Iv'e just seen a set of wheels on ebay and the seller says they have been on his minor 1000. However, he also says that they are 4 x 100mm pcd. I thought that all minors were 4 x 101.6mm pcd. Iv'e got some old mk1 escort wheels in the shed and I think they are 108pcd. Can anyone comment on this. The escort wheels are quite nice and they would look good on one of my minors if they will fit. I'm currently doing a 2door in old english white. Cheers, Mike.

This should answer your question:

Just because he's fitted metric wheels to a Minor doesn't mean it's safe!

Depending on the amount of work you are doing the cost of getting your hubs modified to a different stud pattern is not to high ( in the overall cost of the restoration ).. if you were to change to the ford stud pcd (108mm) it would give you a larger choice of wheels at a later date as I think several other manufacturers use the same pcd..

Any idea what sort of price one is looking at Charlie? I've got a spare set of hubs which I might think about doing this to (where would one get it done?)

Theres another 4" PCD wheel out there thats not on the list you know.... Reliant Robin!
4x108 can be done, but needs some machining if you have standard brakes & axle....

4x108 isnt practical on the rear axle...
4x100 wouldnt be hard using modern (thicker) wheel studs. Hopefully I will have the kit do do this properly within the next few days!

matts response kind of makes the cost pointless.. unless of course you change your rear axle to an escort.. ok i will stop coming up with "great" ideas

right you are, I'll stick with my minilights for the time being and save (save hard!) for some Superlite wheels I have had my eyes on for some time, they'll make the stud pattern to your spec on ordering
