Clamp on door mirrors
I have just bought a clamp on door mirror with a longer arm, as the screw on one I have at the moment isn't very good at all. The trouble is that there are no fitting instructions and I'm not sure exactly where it should go.

They normally fit on the frame between the quarterlight and window. Can you post a photo of the mirror?

Where did you get them? - I bought and fitted some from Bull Motif and could upload a picture if they're the same ones.

Re: Clamp on door mirrors
Bought mine from Bull Motif too! Had some advice from someone at work who's restoring his wife's Moggy to renew the window felt before fitting mirror, as he broke a window because it didn't line up properly with the mirror due to worn felt.
Would be great to see a picture to give me some idea of where to put it, thanks.

Re: Clamp on door mirrors
I agree some fitting instructions would have helped (and I'm assuming I fitted them right).
The C shaped metal bit goes around the vertical upright of the quarterlight, with the opening facing forwards. I put it in place with the window down, trying to keep the felt in place (with marginal success). Then the mirror is screwed to it - it doesn't really make sense how this would work until you try it on the car. Then you wind the window up and surprisingly the glass goes behind the C shaped bit.
I tried to take some pictures this evening, with limited success, but perhaps they'll help. I didn't feel in danger of breaking the glass when I did it

Simon, I can't quite make out in the picture if the c shaped bit goes OVER the window felt, or does it slot BEHIND it? Does that make sense?!

Mine goes over the window felt. I'm not saying that's correct, but I couldn't see a way of putting it behind the felt.

Thanks very much for posting photos, I think I should now be able to work out how to put it on!

I had one of these (or very similar). It fell off after about a week due to vibration

mine is the same as sgray, though its right at the top of the window frame. Must say they are not the easiest to use so was thinking of putting one of those small 180deg mirrors on so i can see what comming up in the fast lane!
more than a minor to me
