Hi,
Can someone advise me were to get some sae 40 oil for my dampers (a shop ideally) - upgraded fluid I know.
Ebay is like 10pound for a litre delivered, which seems steep and my local garage only do the sae 30 at a fair 5pound a litre.

I believe a motorcycle shop will be your best bet. Certainly last year at the classic events - there was a motorcycle stand up here selling straight 40 in 1/2 litre cans at v reasonable price. You can get straight 30 oil in Tesco - in the gardening section - for lawnmowers - and in small can/good price. That would be a good oil for the dampers meantime !

Millers Oils list various specialist oils, including at least two straight SAE40. Their web site also shows local stockists, including one in Shropshire:

STONEHOUSE LUBRICANTS & SUPP
STONE HOUSE FARM
BITTERLEY, LUDLOW
SHROPSHIRE
SY8 3HQ
01584 890 181

They advise phoning first to check availability
