I've got a Black 1971 Traveller, just wondered what colour I should be painting my wheels and my front grille,

When was the car built? I may be wrong but I think travellers built after mid-1970 (Adderly park) would not have come in black anyway!

Yes correct. Black finished on Travellers in June 1970 so it probably sat around until registered. Colour of wheels and grille would still be as stated above though

That's odd as the chassis number you give is for one of the later vans that were badged as Austin
How to interpret the chassis number
HERE , so you can check for yourself (half way down the page under "Chassis Number Identification").

put still odd

It means that someone has changed the plate with the chassis number on it for some reason
