Almost back on the road! :D

Im looking for a union which will adapt a Spitfire Master cylinder to a TR7 Hose. The unions are roughly 3/8 and 7/16.

Im looking for a double ended male adaptor to fit my new stainless hose with the master cylinder. I have the female end of the Master cylinder and the female end of the pipe which I need to link up. Their both course threads IIRC.

Anyone reccomend a supplier Moss and Rimmer no good, Minor factors aint a goer either as Minor hasnt sucha system fitted as you all know!

I could not get the propper union for my clutch either.
I made up a small length of brake pipe with a male and a female end to suit the braded hose and the master cylinder.
At the other end i got parts from Pirtec.

Hope this helps.
Happy new year to

I still think the TR7 fitting will be metric - can't comment on the Spitfire end.

Cheers guys.

Be a shame to pop a pipe in the system now ive got a nice shiney stainless pipe!

I know you can get them, the helpfull hotrodder guy down at my local Moss has used them for this exact same scenario!

Its 3/8 unf to 7/16 unc adaptor which I require. Gotta couple of numbers i'll have to give a call next week. :(

No Minoring over the new year for me then :(

You thought it was all going too well, didn't you.....

Two thoughts: As Roy says, the TR7 is likely to be M10 rather than 7/16 UNC. Try a M10 screw in the female end. If it waggles like a twit in a top hat, then you are right and we are wrong, 7/16 equating to 11.1mm is a bit of an unusual size for unions, but the pitch is similar enough that it will erroneously thread onto M10. Or compare the I/D with an M10 nut using a vernier.

Look for your local hydraulic pipe shop in the Thompson directory- I did this recently in my quest to re-terminate the hydrolastic pipes on my boys' 1100, and found the local hydraulic shop to be very knowledgeable and sympathetic. They are used to dealing with farmers brandishing antique bits of oily metal, so should smile on a Moggy owner, especially if you are wearing slightly grubby overalls!
