Ebay electronic ignition

Been toying with getting a set from BM for a while then spotted these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Morris-Minor-Elet ... 1c0f0a6592 I see from his feedback that he's sold a few has anybody on here tried them? :D

I would love to know how it improves fuel economy - by 'up to' 17%!
It's just replacing the points - not making a super high volt HT system!

:roll: Not wanting to spoil the thread by keeping it on topic - but the original question was about a particular Ebay marketed, points/condenser replacing (probably Hall effect?) electronic ignition - has anybody tried this one?

it does seem a lot of trouble checking everything is right to fit this particular one

i am ure there are other units that may be better

It doesn't do anything very useful (no more powerful spark, and certainly no better fuel economy over well maintained points!) - I would (and do) stick to points - but - it's up to you!

i purchased a similar set of these a couple of weeks ago. seeing as my car is laid up for the winter, i have decided to fit them when the cars serviced just before the summer. i shall keep you posted on what happens
