Found this a few streets away from me!

The owner was delighted I stopped and offered help, but a tow truck was on it's way already.

Plenty of grease but very little in the way of threads left! :o

Amazing - no snow ?

Strange it would happen on a dead straight/flat piece of road! usually happens when the wheel bcomes unloaded - ie it's the inside wheel on a corner.

BMC,

It happened on 13th December (before the snow). I had lost the lead that connects my phone to my PC so I could transfer the picture(s) but I found it today!

Actually, it DID happen when turning. You will notice that the car is pointing inwards towards the kerb. He was pulling into a gap to let another car past when it happened.

It was apparently MoT'd only a few weeks before! :o

And very troubling it is, too. Why isn't the signal post on the cess side, and why does it display a yellow spectacle regardless of whether it's on or off?

And what's the easiest way of blocking all animated gifs?

If you're running Firefox and 'adblock plus' you just right click on any offending image, add it to the 'filtered items' and it's gone in a puff of logic!

Ah, yes - adblock - one of the finest Firefox add-ons, and my addled brain had forgotten about it. And wouldn't it disappear in a puff of steam? (And smoke, thanks to M Chapelon).

I didn't think they bothered much about Christmas up in Roy's neck of the woods - I wouldn't have dared to wind him up on New Year's day.
