Quick Insurance Question

Footman James have just quoted me over the phone £100.20p to insure for 12 months on one policy:

1994 Mini 35 LE value £3k
My moggy value £2500

Both myself and my wife to drive
Unlimited mileage
Full UK and European breakdown cover
Not as everyday drivers but as second cars.

My question is what's the catch? I was expecting double that for each??? The breakdown cover is worth more than that surely???

:o

I couldn't get multicar policies with FJ that covered the Minors and the Trabi 'because they're too different' and/or because the trabi is 80's.

Well done for getting a Minor and a 94 car on the same policy. I guess they class a Minor and a Mini as 'similar' !?

WOW.... sounds like it's their normal pricing. I had to ask the lady, £100 each, she said no for both. She said they both come under their classic car and second car policy rules. I was gobsmacked

Not sure Ray why they allowed the Mini and Minor on the one policy. The mini just came in as 15 years old (cars must be 15 years and older)... at 15 and 1 month. So qualified that way for classic status. Perhaps it's because parts for both are so readily available?

I added my Midget to the Minor insurance about mid term. which cost around £30 . Will find out how much both cost for the full year at renewal time :-?

Why did they try charging me £191 for my two Minors? When I questioned it with a quote from another company they reduced it to £150. To be fair the quote was in line with last year's AON quote who had obviously been over charging me. I have never claimed on the policy.

Insurance is always a mystery to me. One of my Travellers has a 1275 in it which did not increase the premium at all and the premium came down after I added the "new" Traveller (worth more) and taking off the "old" saloon !!!!
