Sloppy Distributor

The cam in the distributor can have an excessive amount of free play making accurate timing difficult. This is normally caused by wear in the slot in the top of the jack shaft into which the distributor drive dog sits. This also causes wear on the lugs of the distributor drive.
The drive dog is the same as the 25D4 distributor and can be replaced and with a little welding the slot in the jack shaft can be closed up enabling the timing to be set up accurately.
