I have a 1959 Minor which has sadly stood on my drive for the last 4 years.
I now want to get her back on the road if it's not going to cost me silly money.
Can anyone recommend a sympathetic garage/ mechanic / enthusiast who could give her the once over and give me an idea of cost to get her through the MOT.
I'm in Derby (Midlands).

If you can post up some pictures of the overall condition and the worst bits then you might be able to get some general guidance from members on this board.
I don't know of any restoration companies near you but Practical Classics or Classic Car Weekly (available for WH Smith or Tesco etc..) might list some companies and be a starting point.
There may also be a local branch of the MMOC that could perhaps suggest companies - If there is a local branch I am sure someone will be along soon to tell you.

I'm not in the restoration or repair business, and I wouldn't claim a fraction of the specialised knowledge of many members of the group, but I'm only 6 miles from the middle of Derby and I'd be happy to cast an eye over it and give a general comment on how much work it might need. Email, PM, or Derby 872450 if you'd like me to call round.

Local knowledge is the best thing to have, so your branch could be a great place to start.
As for the offer of someone looking at it first hand - that's a brilliant offer and one of the reasons this forum is so good
