Tyre, Tire size??

Post by cloud »

Well the car (no name yet) started today after over 30 years of storage.
I need to rebuild the fuel pump but otherwise is ran great. I will be starting on the brakes next but also need new tires. Is the correct size 155/65 14 or something else??
Thanks,

Martin

145 80 14's if you can get them but if not 155 80 14's - do not go wider than 155 on a standard rim. Some people change for 13" rims as it gives a wider choice of tyre but this alters the overall gearing of the car. Incidentally the modern equivalent to the original crossplys is 135 section but I guess these are impossible to get now.....

145 and 155 80 14 tyres are usually just marked as 145 14 or 155 14 as 80 is the standard profile and anything else is classed as low profile. I would think that your Rolls Royce tyres are standard (80) profile
