Brrrr.. Minors in the snow this winter

Just to be the first today for the snow pick.. Here we are arriving at my house (me and the 71 Van). Only 5 months after purchase! It was a nice sunny day when we set off from Hereford in June.
Top tip: fitting an A-frame during a brief blizzard is not for the feint hearted! I must be getting old, as I went to warm up and waited for the snow to stop before fitting the lighting board.

In the time it took to get 1 mile from my ex-works to the house the snow froze solid onto the windscreen, but that didn't stop the enthusiasm of driving up the drive!

It's so nice to drive the Minors again - even for a short distance after clearing ice and snow from the screen with my bare fingers.

It is still listed at DVLA but is unlicensed, probably waiting for some attention.
Minors are great in the snow, they handle very well.

But not so well on ice when you drive them rarely

No, it was about 15 years ago and a passing lorry with a HIAB turned it back on its wheels for us!
It straightened out pretty well and i drove it for a couple of years afterwards before taking it off the road!

Whiteabbey! I've stayed there, back in the late 1970's, when I was Assistant Leader of a Methodist Youth Club from north east London. A very weird experience to go to church on Sunday, and find it packed out, including young people, then come out on the the chapel steps after the service and watch hundreds of people pouring out of churches up and down the street.
Lovely people, though - even the folk from Rathcoole!!
